Họ Xương rồng
Toàn bộ các cây họ Xương rồng Cactaceae đều có nguồn gốc Tân thế giới (Châu Mỹ), do đó đương nhiên là không có cây nào bản địa của VN, tất cả các cây họ Cactaceae ở VN đều là cây nhập nội về trồng làm cây cảnh. Lưu ý trên thị trường cây cảnh người ta gọi nôm na 2 loại Xương rồng : Xương rồng mủ trong (cây thuộc họ Cactaceae) và Xương rồng mủ đục (cây thuộc họ Euphorbiaceae và Apocynaceae). Đa số các cây họ Cactaceae không có lá, mà lá bị biến dạng thành những chùm gai nhọn cứng hay mềm kéo dài như tơ (phân biệt thêm những cây Xương rồng họ Euphorbiaceae hay họ Apocynaceae có lá biến dạng thành nhóm 2 hoặc 3 gai cứng mà thôi)
